Ridley Academy
I did this project for fun. For me. And it turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever designed (doesn’t it always go that way? What we create for the sake of creating makes the best work).
The Ridley Academy had incredible resources on offer in its singing course…this—in the way it was presented—was not one of them. But the meat of it was good and I could tell it had potential. It was an unedited 75 page word document that had minimal, if any, design to it. So I took the better part of a week, put in 12 hours at a time, and turned it into this ebook using only the images I was able to find on the Academy founder’s social media.
It was designed to bring a powerful aesthetic inline with the founder’s style, and with the intention of having it be easily skimmed and to make a possibly dry subject (vocal care) visually engaging.
I also did a full copy edit of the piece, rearranging sections for clarity, cleaning it of typos and unfinished sentences, etc.
A big, but fun job. :-)
(and, fun end of the story, it was actually used in the Academy’s course offering and promo)
